Prof. DDr. Janez Žerovnik

In 1992 I received my PhD from the University of Ljubljana (in computer science) and in 1994 from TU Graz in Austria (PhD in mathematics). Since 1992 I have been lecturing in mathematics at the faculties of Slovenian universities, since 2009 at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Ljubljana. 

In addition to basic research in discrete mathematics, especially graph theory and heuristics for hard combinatorial problems, I am also involved in various interdisciplinary and applied research, which is my main motivation for being a part of the Rudolfovo Institute, where I have been partly employed since 2023.
