Centre for Advanced Technolgies
The Centre for Advanced Technologies is the largest research team at {Rudolfovo. It is engaged in a wide range of cutting-edge technologies in the fields of industry, smart factories, agriculture, education, energy, materials testing and extended reality (VR, AR and MR). We use equipment from all our laboratories for research and development tasks.
The CENT research team is active in various national and international projects ranging from basic research such as the development and testing of new materials, to implementation projects for industrial partners.
Application projects for industrial partners include production optimisation, digital twin manufacturing and the roll-out of new technologies in industry, agriculture and construction. The team is also developing an intelligent AI-based electricity management system.
The Centre with its state of-the-art equipment is also a demonstration centre for companies to test their technology solutions in a laboratory environment without disrupting regular production.
In addition, we provide a range of training courses for students and industry employees, with an emphasis on experiential learning.

Digital transformation
We cover the contents of key enabling technologies for digitization and digital transformation of the economy and local communities:artificial intelligence, digital twins, informatization of business processes, data technologies, high performance and quantum computing, big data and cyber security.
In addition to the technological aspect, we also study the impact of digitalization on society, on employees, ethical and moral dilemmas that accompany digitalization, e-participation, e-democracy and e-citizenship.

Centre for Digitalisation
The Centre for Digitalisation carries out research and development work in 3D technologies, digital twins, supercomputing and quantum computing. With advanced 3D scanners and CT scanners, we convert products into point clouds, look for hidden defects in the point clouds and check whether the measured geometry and structure of the products comply with the plans and standards. We do this using the most advanced software, complemented by our own AIbased solutions.
We also create digital twins of the scanned products, prepare missing documentation for them and clone them if necessary, using 3D printing.
The associated computational problems are often highly data- and compute-intensive, therefore we use cutting edge data technologies and supercomputers for such computational tasks, while also stepping into the world of applied quantum computing, which has the potential to solve selected computational problems much faster than classical computers or supercomputers.

Centre for Circular
Economy
We want to turn the statistics for the better!
The Centre focuses on addressing the challenges of the transition to a circular economy. The research work mainly focuses on approaches to achieving a circular economy, energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy sources, life cycle assessment (LCA), policies in this area, and the development of methodological instruments for evaluating and monitoring the transition to a circular economy.
In the field of industrial symbiosis, the Centre fosters cooperation between industrial stakeholders. By promoting resource sharing, waste exchange and synergy creation, this network boosts the efficiency and sustainability of industrial ecosystems. In the field of energy efficiency and renewable energy, the Centre addresses the energy challenges of the green transition through research. This work is closely linked to understanding the environmental impacts of processes, which is why LCA analyses are carried out. The research work is also closely linked to legislation, directives and strategies for the transition to a circular economy. As part of its work, the Centre analyses the impact of policies and develops new methodological instruments.

Centre for Technology Transfer and Intellectual
Property
At the Centre for Technology Transfer and Intellectual Property, we research and develop methods, processes and prerequisites for transferring technological knowledge into the business environment, as well as the synergistic effects of multidisciplinary efforts, and explore processes and tools for intellectual property. Our efforts are also focused on increasing understanding of the dispersion and adoption of new technologies within innovation systems and understanding the relationship between intellectual property and other approaches such as open science.
We are also particularly focused on understanding and strengthening the role of intellectual property and technology transfer in new societal transitions, such as digitalisation and the circular economy, thereby strengthening the cooperation between centres.
We have the skills to create strategies for bringing new technologies into companies and work with top patent and other innovation databases to provide insights into innovation trends and partnerships. Our aim is also to strengthen the management and understanding of intellectual property, promote networking and cooperation between public research organisations and the corporate sector, and enhance the competences of researchers and organisations in the management and exploitation of intellectual property and technology transfer.
