PUŠ CLUSTER B project: "From the laboratory to sustainability: the LCA approach"
In cluster A, they are developing a functional fruit dessert and conducting chemical, sensory, and basic market analyses in collaboration with an industrial partner..
Cluster B focuses on the life cycle analysis (LCA) of the fruit dessert production process (Part A), with Rudolfovo, as a development partner, supporting students in data collection, environmental impact analysis, and the design of sustainable solutions in the production process.
Project description:
The project is being implemented as part of the public tender "Problem-based learning for students in the working environment: economy, non-economy, and non-profit sector in the local/regional environment 2024–2027 (PUŠ in the working environment)", which enables students to gain practical experience and skills for an easier transition to the labour market.
In Cluster A – "Healthy snack: dessert of the future," students, together with industry partner Incom d.o.o., are developing and upgrading a functional fruit dessert on a stick and performing chemical, sensory, and market analyses in a real industrial environment.
Cluster B – "From the laboratory to sustainability: the LCA approach" builds on the results of part A by conducting an analysis of the environmental impact of the production process using the life cycle assessment (LCA) method. Rudolfovo – Science and Technology Centre Novo mesto acts as a partner in Cluster B, offering students knowledge transfer and support in data collection, LCA implementation, and interpretation of environmental impacts, as well as in the development of sustainable solutions in the food sector.
