Rudolfovo – Science and Technology Centre Novo mesto kindly invites you to attend the scientific seminar titled:“Melt Pool Monitoring and Post-Processing Effects in Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing of Magnesium Alloys” presented by Mohammad Reza Ghavi.

Abstract:

»This research focuses on two key areas in Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM). First, it involves the development of a low-cost, vision-based system for real-time melt pool monitoring to improve the accuracy and stability of the WAAM process. Second, the study investigates the AZ31 magnesium alloy, specifically how heat treatment and friction stir processing (FSP) influence its porosity, microstructure, mechanical properties, and corrosion resistance. The goal is to integrate advanced monitoring and control systems with robotic and post-processing techniques to enhance process efficiency and quality of WAAM components.«
