Rudolfovo at the Academy of Mechanical Engineering 2025 with three professional contributions

Rudolfovo – Science and Technology Centre Novo mesto actively participated in the 2025 Mechanical Engineering Academy, the central Slovenian gathering of the engineering community, which took place on November 17 in the Gallus Hall of Cankarjev dom. We contributed three expert papers presenting modern research approaches and innovative technological solutions in the fields of mechatronics, robotics, digitalisation and sustainability.

Presentations by Rudolfovo researchers

Three presentations by our research groups were given at the Academy:

• Morphological Diagnostics and Replication of Heritage Artefacts Using 3D Technologies

• Performance Evaluation of Communication Protocols for Fanuc Robots

• Determining the Environmental Impact of Electricity Generation on an Hourly Basis Using Life Cycle Assessment Methodology

This year, the Academy of Mechanical Engineering brought together a record number of engineers, industry experts, academics, and students. The central message of the event, "Engineering – Stability in Times of Strategic Transformation," highlighted the role of engineers in overcoming the challenges of the future and shaping a stable, technologically advanced society. The keynote speakers were Prof. Dr. Iztok Golobič, President of the Slovenian Association of Mechanical Engineers, and Prof. Dr. Jernej Klemenc, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Ljubljana. The highest awards for outstanding engineering achievements were also presented: the award for global breakthrough went to Mag. Valter Leban, President of the Management Board of the Kolektor Group, and the award for lifetime achievement went to Prof. Dr. Janez Kramar, a long-time creator in the field of industrial and academic innovation.

The event was accompanied by a rich professional and cultural program, including three round tables with leading experts from the business and academic communities and an international conference on new technologies and artificial intelligence in engineering.
