Rudolfovo Science and Technology Centre Novo mesto has joined ZBS – the Slovenian Concrete Association. Membership in the association, which brings together numerous renowned experts in the field of concrete, represents an important step in strengthening cooperation between the research community, industry, and professionals, and opens up new opportunities for the development of innovative solutions in construction.

Digital transformation of construction as one of Rudolfovo priorities

An important part of Rudolfov's activities is CeDIG – Center for Digitalization, which focuses on the development and introduction of digital technologies in construction. Key activities include the capture and analysis of existing structures and materials, automated 3D scanning, and the creation of digital twins that enable further analysis of materials, including through the use of artificial intelligence.

With advanced technologies and an interdisciplinary approach, CeDIG supports the industry in its transition to the digital age and develops solutions that contribute to more efficient, sustainable, and innovative construction processes. We also place great emphasis on cooperation with other research institutions and the business sector, both at home and abroad.

International cooperation with the Technical University of Munich

One of the more important projects we are currently developing is our collaboration with the renowned Technical University of Munich (TUM). As part of this project, we are developing a new material from waste, which we will digitally monitor and analyze its degradation under real weather conditions. The project combines the fields of digitalisation, materials and sustainability and is an example of how cooperation between research institutions and industry can lead to concrete innovations with great potential for practical application.

"We expect future cooperation to bring closer ties with the Slovenian concrete industry, an understanding of the challenges, and support for the digitization and automation of processes in construction," emphasizes Doc. Dr. Vesna Pungerčar, head of the Center for Digitization at Rudolfovo.

Networking with the concrete industry and knowledge exchange

Membership in ZBS brings numerous benefits, such as the exchange of information and best practices, access to professional training and events, and new opportunities for partnerships. It also enables a better understanding of the challenges facing the industry and strengthens cooperation within the entire construction value chain.
