Professional Excursion of Students from the Krško-Sevnica School Centre to FIŠ and Rudolfovo

On Thursday, 5 February 2026, students from the Krško-Sevnica School Centre visited the Faculty of Information Studies in Novo mesto and Rudolfovo. The professional excursion was aimed at introducing students to modern technologies, artificial intelligence, supercomputing, and research work in Rudolfovo’s laboratories.

The second part of the excursion took place at Rudolfovo. After an introductory welcome by the Director of Rudolfovo, Prof. Dr Janez Povh, Dr Lucijano Berus delivered a lecture titled Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

The students then divided into groups and visited the research laboratories. They learned about the work carried out in the Laboratory for Factories of the Future – {LabTOP, the Energy Laboratory – {LabE, the Extended Reality Laboratory – {LabX, the 3D Technologies Laboratory – {Lab3D, and the Centre for Applied Quantum Computing – CEQ.

The visit gave the students insight into current technological fields, opportunities for further education, and the research work conducted at FIŠ and Rudolfovo.
