ree

On Tuesday, 16 September 2025, the Dolenjska region was visited by a government delegation led by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr. Robert Golob. Three ministers visited Podbreznik – Dr. Aleksander Jevšek, Minister for Cohesion and Regional Development; Tanja Fajon, Minister for Foreign and European Affairs; and Dr. Igor Papič, Minister for Higher Education, Science and Innovation – followed later by representatives of other ministries. The visit aimed at fostering in-depth dialogue on the strategic development of the region and presenting successful collaborations between research, industry, and business.

The hosts of the meeting in Podbreznik were the Development Centre Novo mesto, Rudolfovo – Science and Technology Centre Novo mesto, and EZTS – Paths of the Future. The government delegation visited presentations and research-development infrastructure at the LabTOP facilities, followed by a roundtable discussion with institutional leaders, business representatives, and local chambers and municipalities of Dolenjska.

At Rudolfovo, we were delighted to host Minister Dr. Igor Papič with great respect. Associate Professor Dr. Alenka Pandiloska Jurak and Rudolfovo Director, Professor Dr. Janez Povh, presented the institute’s achievements and the strategic QuantAIR project, which aims to position Rudolfovo and Novo mesto as a leading center for quantum computing in Southeast Europe.

We also highlighted the broader vision of developing Podbreznik as an innovation hub for the region, with the planned construction of the Science and Technology Park and the further strengthening of collaboration between research institutions, industry, and European partners.

The main message of the meeting was clear and emphatic: “We know what we are doing, the results are here, and we have a plan for the future.”
