Today we celebrate the courage, curiosity and perseverance of all women and girls who explore, discover and push the boundaries of science. There are more than 6,000 female PhDs in Slovenia, and about the same number of women as men are awarded PhDs every year, yet the average salary of female researchers is still 12% lower. One third of researchers are women, which puts Slovenia in the European average.

Every new female researcher brings a fresh perspective, every new PhD opens the door to the next generation. So let's encourage girls to choose research paths and create an environment where they will be driven by passion.

Let today be a day of recognition and support - for all of you who are co-creating the future of science. Thank you for changing the world with your work!
