On 19 October 2026, Rudolfovo – Science and Technology Centre Novo mesto welcomed pupils from Drska Primary School and Otočec Primary School, together with guests from the Czech Republic. At four themed stations, they explored modern technologies, research into plant-based dyes and intellectual property.

How does a computer model become a physical object? Where are robots and smart devices used? What can we obtain from plant-based dyes, and how can we protect our ideas? Pupils explored these questions during their visit to Rudolfovo, organised as part of the RhythmOfLife project’s Researchers at Schools activities.

Working in groups, the pupils visited four themed stations. At the Laboratory for Factories of the Future (LabTOP), they learned about robotics, smart devices and modern technological solutions. At the Laboratory for 3D Technologies (Lab3D), they saw 3D printers and 3D scanners in action and discovered how a digital model can be turned into a physical object. The CeKROG presentation introduced them to research into plant-based dyes and their potential applications. CETIP introduced intellectual property and the basic principles of protecting creative ideas and knowledge.

The visit gave pupils direct experience of a research environment and modern equipment. Through practical demonstrations, they explored applications of computing, robotics, artificial intelligence and 3D technologies, gaining insight into the variety of research conducted at Rudolfovo.

This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement No. 101305421.
