How do you go from researcher to entrepreneur? Inspiration from a round table discussion at the Chemical Institute

On Thursday, June 19, 2025, employees of Rudolfovo – Science and Technology Center Novo mesto participated in a round table discussion entitled “From Idea to Your Own Company”, organized by the Knowledge Transfer Office at the Chemical Institute in Ljubljana.
The event was intended to exchange experiences and insights into the entrepreneurial path of researchers who founded the high-tech spin-off companies Mebius, MyCol, and ReCatalyst. Participants listened with interest to the personal stories of the founders, who spoke about the challenges, turning points, and support mechanisms that helped them on their journey from a scientific idea to a marketable product.
The event also raised important questions about the role of research institutions in promoting knowledge transfer and supporting entrepreneurial ambitions in the academic environment.
