Presentation of a research article at the IRT 2025 conference

At the IRT 2025 conference, held on June 10–12, 2025, in Portorož, Jakob Fabjan, a researcher at Rudolfovo – Science and Technology Center Novo mesto, presented a research article entitled “Comparison of advanced 3D technologies for scanning in industrial product quality control”.

The authors of the article are Jakob Fabjan, Adela Pišmo, Vesna Pungerčar and Slavko Arh. The article presents a comparative analysis of three advanced 3D technologies used in the quality control of industrial components: the CREAFORM MetraSCAN BLACK+™|Elite laser scanner, the VYLO RAPTOR 3DX structured light system, and the Nikon Metrology XT V 160 industrial CT scanner. The analysis is based on a specific example of scanning the lower part of an industrial product.

The aim of the research was to determine the advantages, limitations, and suitability of each technology in relation to the specific requirements of the industrial environment and the need for accurate quality control.

With such research at Rudolfovo, we actively contribute to the understanding of modern technological solutions and support the industry in introducing effective and reliable approaches to product quality assurance.
