Rudolfovo Joins the RhythmOfLife Project

Rudolfovo – Science and Technology Centre Novo mesto will participate in the RhythmOfLife – The Science of Rhythms in Our Lives project over the next two years. Coordinated by the National Institute of Biology, the project runs from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2028 and brings together ten partners from across Slovenia.

RhythmOfLife is implemented within the European Researchers’ Night and Researchers at Schools initiative under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions programme. Its aim is to connect researchers with the wider public and demonstrate, through accessible and practical activities, how science relates to everyday life.

Rhythms That Shape Nature and Our Lives

Seasons, lunar cycles, biological rhythms and other natural processes affect people, the environment and society. The project will explore these phenomena through interactive experiments, strategy games, science shows and other activities that directly involve participants.

The activities will be intended for children, primary and secondary school students, teachers, university students, families and other interested members of the public. Particular attention will also be given to groups with limited access to science, including older people, socially disadvantaged children, persons with disabilities and migrants.

Researchers at Schools and European Researchers’ Night

In 2026 and 2027, European Researchers’ Night events and Researchers at Schools activities will take place across Slovenia. The programme will extend beyond the largest cities, with project partners bringing activities to other parts of the country.

The project aims to strengthen scientific literacy, increase young people’s interest in STEM and build public trust in science. Through familiar everyday phenomena, children, young people and the wider public will have an opportunity to experience research first-hand.

Alongside Rudolfovo, the project partners include the Slovenian Museum of Natural History, Ljubljana Zoo, Kozjansko Regional Park, the Institute of the Republic of Slovenia for Nature Conservation, Tehnopark Celje, the Regional Higher Education Centre, the Museum and Galleries of Ljubljana, and Mladinska knjiga Publishing House.

The project at Rudolfovo is led by Assist. Prof. Jelena Topić Božič, PhD.
