On Friday, 25 September 2026, Rudolfovo – Science and Technology Centre Novo mesto brought science closer to different generations. As part of the RhythmOfLife project and European Researchers’ Night, we opened our laboratories, visited organisations in the local community and held an evening programme at the Miran Jarc Library Novo mesto.

Our Open Day welcomed primary and secondary school students in the morning and other visitors in the afternoon. Through workshops and presentations, they met our researchers and discovered our laboratories and research areas – from advanced technologies and digitalisation to the circular economy, technology transfer and applied quantum computing.

We also took science beyond the institute. At the Novo mesto residential care home, we held a meditation session and played a memory game, while artificial intelligence workshops took place at the Association for Developing Voluntary Work Novo mesto and at ŠENT. At the Miran Jarc Library, our researchers presented 3D scanning and its applications in industry and cultural heritage preservation. Together with the KRKA Novo mesto Chess Club, we also organised a Chess960 tournament.

Thank you to everyone who explored science with us, to our researchers for delivering the programme, and to our partner organisations for their cooperation and hospitality.

The events were also part of the Month of Science.

The project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement No. 101305421.
