Use of electronic laboratory notebooks - an example of the Benchling tool

Zoom, 13 February 2025 at 9.00, Dr. Karen Butina Ogorelec (UP IAM and InnoRenew CoE)

This talk will provide a practical overview of the pros and cons of using Electronic Laboratory Notebooks (ELN). We will discuss why using ELNs makes sense for individuals, research groups and institutions, and what challenges may be faced in implementation. We will briefly introduce some of the currently available providers of this type of software and their key advantages and disadvantages. We will pay particular attention to Benchling, which we will look at in more detail. A practical example of how to enter an experiment in this tool will be presented. There will be time for questions and discussion after the lecture.

This is the fifth event in the Open Science at the University of Primorska series.
