Join the Practical Workshop: Solving Complex Computational Problems with Supercomputers and Quantum Computers

Rudolfovo – Science and Technology Centre Novo mesto invites you to a practical workshop as part of Exascale Day – SLING Open Doors, on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 10:00 AM, in Lecture Hall Alfa, Faculty of Information Studies, Ljubljanska cesta 31a, Novo mesto.

Participants will learn how to solve challenging Quadratic Unconstrained Binary Optimization (QUBO) problems effectively using the BiqBin solver. The workshop will cover how to run BiqBin locally on a personal computer or on a supercomputer, and how to connect it with the D-Wave quantum computer to leverage the advantages of quantum computing. As a practical example, the application of QUBO models for portfolio optimization will be presented.

The 90-minute workshop offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with advanced optimization methods that combine high-performance computing and quantum computing. Attendance is limited to ten participants, so early registration is recommended.
