Rudolfovo at the 33rd Slovenian Informatics Days Conference 2026

At the 33rd Slovenian Informatics Days 2026 conference, held this year under the title "The Digital Society at a Crossroads: Where Regulation and Innovation Meet," we presented three projects in which we are currently participating: Culinary Trail, SRC-EDIH, and AdoptQC.

At the conference, we presented various aspects of the research and development work taking place at the institute at the intersection of digital technologies, collaboration with the community, and the search for solutions to specific social and economic challenges.

The Culinary Trail project is dedicated to preserving and promoting the local culinary heritage of the Danube region through the use of advanced digital technologies. Among the project’s key results are the development of a virtual prototype of a riverboat and a culinary cart, which enable the testing of new mobile solutions for sustainable culinary tourism in a virtual reality environment. This approach allows for the verification of functionality, ergonomics, and usability even before physical production and also involves the collaboration of providers and users from various countries in the Danube region. The presentation was led by Tomaž Jakša.

Marko Rudolf presented the SRC-EDIH (European Digital Innovation Hub) project, which is aimed at accelerating the digital transformation of businesses and other organizations. The project brings together partners from the fields of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, high-performance computing, automation, and robotics, and offers support in the form of pre-investment solution testing, consulting, training, and assistance with accessing funding. Its aim is to contribute to greater competitiveness of organizations and to the development of technology-driven and sustainability-oriented solutions.

The AdoptQC project was also presented at the conference by Dr. Janez Kolar. The project addresses the early stages of introducing quantum computing into businesses.

For Rudolfovo, this year’s event was also special because the institute’s director prof. dr. Janez Povh received the Silver Medal of Honor from the Slovenian Society INFORMATIKA for the development of research excellence and successful collaboration with the society in the field of operations research.
